Wildflowers for 4th of July

When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with finding a kitten. I wished that I could find a kitten so badly. I'd keep a wrapped cheese slice with me "just in case" I found one and would coax it with a piece of cheese. This was back when us kids roamed the streets of our neighborhoods all day long, and that was the only food I could get my hands on that I thought kittens could eat. But I never did find one. Throughout my life, I'd remember my childhood prayer every time I heard a catbird calling. Fast-forward to last year - we had just got a new puppy, (she's an Australian Shepherd). I was taking her out to do her business when I heard a catbird. And my heart felt nostalgic to pray that prayer again. So I said in my heart to the Lord, "Oh why can't it ever be a kitten?". Then I went inside the house. When it was time to take the puppy out again, my husband took his turn and when he came back in he said, "There are kittens out there!" Long story short...

So I wrote a song to celebrate them called, "Wildflowers".

* I also wanted it to be about my children, and I want everyone to be able to relate to this song in someway. So it's to those that I love dearly and that I prayed to God for.
